When making an international call you would typical dial the following sequence

<international access number> + <International country code> + <city code> + <telephone number>

For example in the US you would normally dial 011 to access an international number followed by the international country code etc

So if you wish to call us (1st4phonecards.com) you would dial

011 44 845 0 608 608 from the US.

0845 0 608 608 from the UK

Sometimes the (0) part of the city code is dropped, as in the example above.
